For many years the Jingle Bell Walk in Newcastle ran by the Chris Lucas Trust has been a great family event for the lead up to Christmas.
This year was no different and saw hundreds turn up for the walk from Newcastle Civic Centre down to the quayside of Newcastle.
The event is held yearly and this year spirits were high. Unfortunately due to weather issues the marching band could not make it, however this didn’t phase the walkers one bit! They put a speaker in with Christmas music and sang their way through the streets of Newcastle.
At 6pm the walk started at Newcastle Civic Centre next to Haymarket bus station.
Next the walkers made their way down Northumberland Street and round to monument where the Newcastle Christmas Market is being hosted. Past that they made their way down past the theatre royal and to the Queyside where they were greeted by some very special guests.
That’s right! Santa and his reindeer were at the finishing location where walkers could grab a cookie and warm drink and meet Santa under the snow machine.
A lot of families got involved in the event making it another great family event on the run up to Christmas.
